DEA
(diethanolamine), TEA (triethanolamine) & MEA (monethanolamine)
DEA, TEA and MEA are all ammonia derivatives and dangerous chemicals to be included
in personal care products as they are known to have hormone disrupting effects.
They are used to thicken & cleanse and found in soaps, bubble baths and
facial cleansers. As well as having an effect on the hormones, when they are
combined with other products containing nitrates (a preservative), a dangerous
chemical reaction takes place leading to the formation of nitrosamines. Most
nitrosamines are carcinogenic.
