Sodium
Laureth Sulfate
A common detergent found in shampoos, bubble baths, shower gels and cleansers.
It is also the same detergent used to de-grease engines and clean garage floors.
When used on the body and hair it is found to destroy delicate eye tissue and
therefore impair eyesight. It also causes skin rashes, corrodes hair follicles
and damages hair growth. When combined with other ingredients to form nitrosamines
(reaction between ammonia derivatives such as DEA, TEA and MEA and nitrates
a unit of nitrogen oxide), it is carcinogenic. Also known as Sodium Laurel
Sulfate.
